Combining Denon’s high performance AVR-591 A/V receiver with Boston Acoustics’ MCS 95 5.1 speaker system, the DHT-591BA home theater system features carefully matched components to provide thrilling surround sound for music and movies. The heart of the system is the AVR591. It’s equipped with HDMI connectivity (1.4a repeater function) and high resolution surround sound decoders including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. The four HDMI 1.4a inputs are 1080p and 3D (pass through) compatible. The unit also converts analog video sources to HDMI (480i to 480p), allowing a single HDMI cable run to the TV. System calibration is accomplished with Audyssey MultEQ to optimize the Boston speaker system performance for any room. Audyssey Dynamic Volume and Dynamic EQ help deliver smooth tonal balance at any volume level, while eliminating annoying jumps in volume that typically accompany television commercials. I ordered this for Father’s day at the time Amazon did not have it available directly so went through one of the listed vendors EE. I actually called them directly and they were exceedingly helpful. Also gave a great deal.

The system is well packaged and very nice for the price—I’m not an expert audiophile but it sounds great to us. The Audyssey set-up is very easy. (although there are plenty of manual controls for those who like to tweak). The manual may be helpful to those who know what they are doing but for us it was confusing and we ended up calling for help. (One of the front speakers was not hooked up correctly and therefore none worked–once we resolved that the rest was pretty easy). Those who have set up surround sound before should have no problem.

The whole system is quality build not cheap HTIB. Of course this is not a thousand dollar or more system but for the average buyer it is a great sound and great price. Similar systems for the same price cannot compare. Speakers are nicely made and fit just about anywhere. Again Boston Acoustic makes a very nice product. The speakers are well matched to the reciever. Our Room is 16 X 22 feet, very high ceilings, hardwood floors and lots of glass. It also is part of an open floorplan. Plenty of full-bodied sound for us.

We set up cable box to receiver and then HDMI to TV. We can run TV without turning the whole system on which is nice. You will need 3 HDMI cables. One for the cable box to receiver, one Receiver to TV, and finally one from receiver to your DVD or blue-ray player. There are also plenty of conventional jacks.

This unit has a USB port for ipod and optional dock is available. The system uploads/coverts older VHS to almost HD quality. There are very few reviews out there on this system (as I write this) but the DHT-590BA is last year’s model and this is an improvement. (new on screen menus and three quick-set buttons on remote) You can also find reviews for just the Receiver AVR-591BA (old model AVR-590BA)

I went with the EE recommendation and I talked to many retail salespeople before selecting this. I have an old Denon receiver that worked great that I have passed on to kids. They build a quality product.

One advantage this has over many comparable Receivers is it runs cool. Over time this adds to the longevity of the unit.I hope this helps others make a decision.

Paradigm Cinema 70 CT 5.1 Home Theater Surround Sound System (Silver) Customer Review

While I have never been a big fan of HTIB systems after some research and a Amazon Gold Box price deal at 0 I decided to give these a try. In the past I have been content with buying & piecing together my own surround sound systems but I needed something discreet for a smaller room. I have to say that the sound that this package produces is very impressive. The highs are nice and crisp and the 8″ subwoofer is strong enough to fill the room with great home theater surround sound lows. I was even impressed when I switched over to just stereo sound to listen to music (I do not prefer to listen to music in surround sound) and the smaller speakers held their own in this fashion as well. Overall this is a very nice HTIB system. If you already have a good receiver then buy this unit and skip putting money into a receiver that is sub par like most of these systems usually include. Put your money were the speakers are!! This system holds up to very good company that I have owned in the past like Polk Audio, Infinity, Klipsh, Bose, & Velodyne… Hope this helps as there are a lot of options out there…

I like the night feature and the motion detector that switches to the camera when activated.
I have had X10 system for about ten years and I thought they were good but I like these cameras better because of the night vision.
The cameras and receiver are compatable with the X10 system so I can swithes any camera as well as the receiver.
The receiver will switch between three cameras automatic. A very good feature.
One of my cameras seem to have frequency problems in cold weather
I wish they had more of a range than they do. My main camera is about 60 feet from the receiver and through alum. siding but the X10 camera had no problem.

I originally chose this product for someone else, who tasked me to find a great bookcase stereo to give as a gift. I ordered it and received it within two days via Amazon Prime. I installed and tested it on Christmas Day. It truly exceeded my expectations in every way. Very attractive layout and veneer, intuitive controls, solid feel, great sound quality. I tested the radio first, then the CD player, then the iPod dock. In all three cases, the performance was very impressive for such a small system. I would compare this very favorably to the Bose system that gets so much advertising. I’ve listened to that system in several peoples’ homes and although it’s a good system, I feel the sound quality and appearance of this Yamaha system is superior.

I liked it so much that I immediately ordered a system for our home. I ordered the green color for my friend, but I went with red for our home. It’s beautiful and looks very sharp. My wife and I both have iPhones, and we use this system to play our music libraries. It comes with a remote control, which is in itself a very nice little unit. Flawless performance and function. I really have nothing negative to say about this system. It is priced very fairly for its performance, build quality, and appearance. I see another reviewer commented that the speakers cannot be placed adjacent to the unit due to heat buildup. I don’t get this at all. The unit never gets hot, and the speakers are placed exactly as shown in the product photographs, that is to say “attached” to the main unit. There are zero issues with heat. I love this little system and I’m sure anyone who takes the chance on one without physically seeing one in the store will be delighted. Anyone have any comments on their experiences or questions, feel free to leave a comment.

Looking for a simple and space saving setup, the sound bar type system with DVD was the best fit for me. When I ran across this Polk Soundbar 360 for around 0, I didn’t have to think twice. Received the system within a couple of days, it’s a very large box they ship it in, but it has a carry handle and it’s not very heavy. It was packaged well, and it was very easy to unpack. They have the quick install directions laid out flat and easy to see and read. The whole thing took about 10 minutes to set up, and it was about the most clear to follow, and easy to understand instructions I have seen with an electronic item like this.

There are some reviews where folks say it’s not the best, especially for around 00, and they are right. But now that the price has come down to 0, I can’t imagine anything being better or even close to it. The sound is very good, it will not blast you away though. There is no subwoofer, but you can feel the bass pretty well just the same.

I would have to give this product a very high recommendation. You won’t find anything better for the price.

The setup was fairly easy, plug the base unit in with the included power supply, connect the audio cables to the base unit and the source (our TV did not have the correct output for the included cables – See “Cons” below), put in a battery (AAA or the included rechargeable), turn them on and you are in business.

Pros -
+ Easy To Setup – See above
+ Uses Standard AAA or Included Rechargeable Battery (recharges on the base unit)
+ Comfortable Fit – These are fairly lightweight and can be worn for hours
+ Decent Sound Quality – For games and TV, but not for music
+ long Battery Life – The fully charged headphones last for hours and hours, never had them die on me
+ Reasonably Priced

Cons -
+ Limited Connectivity With Included Cables – The set included a cable with composite (RCA connectors) to mini-phone, but my TV had RCA out so had to use my own RCA to RCA cable (not really a problem for me since I had the extra cable on hand)
+ Limited Range – These are IR and work in “line of sight” to the base unit

Overall these are a very good value for a decent set of wireless headphones but they might not be for everyone, especially not for audiophiles or those wanting to roam around from room to room. They work perfectly for our video games and casual TV usage.

Recommended, with the caveats above.
