Identification The HP Pavilion dv6000 measured 14.05-inches wide, 10.12-inches deep and between 1.0 and 1.56-inches thick. Standard configurations of the dv6000 weighed 6.8 lbs. The Pavilion dv6000 featured an integrated touch pad with dedicated vertical scrolling. Processor, Memory and Storage The Pavilion dv6000 was built around an AMD 64 X2 dual-core mobile processor. The processor had a clock speed of 1.8 GHz and 512KB of Level 2 cache. For memory, base models of the Pavilion dv6000 came with 1GB of DDR2 SDRAM. For storage, the laptop came standard with a 120GB serial ATA-150 hard drive that operated at 5,400 rpm. Additional storage was available via a 5-in-1 memory card reader. The card reader was compatible with Memory Stick, MultiMediaCard, xD-Picture Card, Secure Digital and Memory Stick Pro memory cards. Display and Multimedia The Pavilion dv6000 featured a 15.4-inch WXGA TFT active matrix widescreen display with a native resolution of 1,280 by 800 pixels. The display included HP’s BrightView technology. Graphics on the Pavilion dv6000 were handled by the NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 graphics card. An integrated audio controller paired with two stereo Altec Lansing speakers handled audio. The system also included an integrated Web camera as well as an 8X SuperMulti rewritable DVD drive. Connectivity and Expansion Users of the Pavilion dv6000 could access the Internet or a local area network via a 56K dial-up modem, a 10/100BASE-T Ethernet card or an 802.11b/g wireless card. Additional available connections on the Pavilion dv6000 include three USB 2.0 ports, one 15-pin VGA jack, an S-video port, one IEEE 1394 four-pin Firewire card, one infrared port, a pair of 3.5-mm headphone and audio outputs and one 3.5-mm microphone input.

When I first bought the item i didn’t think this item would fit my 2001 protege but it fit perfectly. The system was easy to use after 15 minutes of playing with it. First I plugged in my ipod into the unit ( with the adapter sold seperately). I was able to easily search through my songs and the album cover should up on the screen, that was pretty cool. My speekers are 2001 factory speekers. But with the pioneer avh-p3100 it made my speakers sound like they are brand new. I cant imagine what new speekers would sound like.
Next I put a DvD in the unit. When I first saw the picture come up I was blown away. The picture was clear and perfect. But what really surprised me was the sound of the of the DvD player It was like I was in the theater. After buying this item I am hooked on pioneer for the price and experience.
