Yamaha PSR-295MS Portable 61-Key Touch-Sensitive Electronic Keyboard with Adapter and Stand Customer Review

I got this keyboard close to a year ago. I’ve been pleased with it ever since. I’ve had very very basic lessons in piano playing, and that was several years ago. This keyboard has probably…I’d say 200-300 different *instruments.* It has a whole section of sound effects (i.e., fireworks, footsteps, animals, etc). There’s plenty of instruments to keep you occupied. Then there are dozens of songs that you can learn. A few I’ve done are Fur Elise, Killing Me Softly, The Entertainer…and there are several I’m working on. All in all, this is an excellent keyboard if you want a relativly inexpensive instrument that’s versatile and easy to use. The sound is quite good too. Naturally it doesn’t have the acoustics of a true piano, but most keyboards don’t. (Unless, of course, you’d be willing to spend ,000.) I have the sustain pedal as well, which is about 20 bucks extra, and I love it. It’s excellent. However, if you’re a serious pianist or learner, then this probably isn’t the keyboard for you, since the keys aren’t weighted (which means they don’t have weights to make them feel like real piano keys) and it’s not a full keyboard, so you won’t be able to play many “real” songs on it. (Most songs such as David Lanz or really any artist require the use of all the octaves and this keyboard chops off about 2 and a half.) But keyboards that have all the octaves and are weighted run around 0 and up. So I’d say this is a good investment if you don’t plan to be a serious player any time soon, or if you want it for your kids or whatever.

I will say that the stand it comes with doesn’t fit right. My dad had to drill a hole in the stand to bring it to the right position and we fiddled with it for a while before getting the keyboard to sit well on the stand. Also, you can’t just plug headphones in. You MUST have a headphone adaptor, or it won’t work.

Other than that, I’d say this is a good buy. I certainly love it.

iGo juice70 PS00055-0003 Universal 70 Watt AC/DC Notebook Adapter with Dual Power Customer Review

I now have both the top end version of the IGO adapter and the Juice version. I paid, through Amazon 1/4 for the Juice model. My lost, high end unit was returned the day after the Juice unit was ordered, but I do not regret From and adequacy standpoint it is actually more portable and slight smaller (good) the 70 watt output is quite adequate for any of the newer, longer battery life computers. One must still be careful with the interconnect jack because the plug in puts more stress on the computer side plug in as a result of the right angle plug rather than the straight plug provide by computer manufacturers.
The juice does not come with the additional device adapter for simultaneous charging of laptop and phone, but for the dollar difference in the prices offered by vendors, it’s a no brainer.
I don’t remember who the low price vendor was that I bought it through but they were fine, reliable and delivered a new, in the box, full kit juice unit. I was pleased with that. As a pretty tech savvy user, there is no tough decision between the juice for under or the 90 watt kawonka for 130.For the higher price you get more output than almost any computer needs today, a bigger bag full of stuff and now advantage in quality or performance.
Warning.. with all of these multi head travel units, take care to not leverage it at the computer interface. It can break the connection right at the mother board which is an expensive fix.

After moving our IR baby video monitoring camera across the room, I found the IR LEDs on the camera just weren’t powerful enough. This IR light works really well for supplemental light to boost IR cameras. I’m glad I bought the model (IR045) with 68 LED for a few reasons. It really blasts the room with enough IR light to see everything on the monitor sharp and clear. Secondly, it’s powerful enough so that you don’t need to aim it directly at the subject/kid/bed; you can hide it behind/on top of something and reflect it off the ceiling. Lights with less LEDs were about the same price. I was thinking about building one myself until I discovered single IR LED bulbs were -2 a piece, so not a lot of savings to DIY. This light does get warm and sometimes I notice a red glow, but I think that’s normal. Comes with a power adapter (not obvious from the picture or description). Seems to be well built, but have only been using for about 2 weeks.

Works exactly as it should. Very affordable and decent build quality. It would be nice if the audio could also be outputted on this, but that is Apple’s fault. Otherwise, the only other thing that I’ve gotten a little annoyed with is when using an hdtv as a monitor, the mac recogizes it as a TV and overscans the picture which gets frustrating since you can’t see the edges of the screen — for me about an inch. If you disable overscanning the picture is in the middle of the screen. I would definitely still buy this product again though.
