Hi,
I had previously purchased the Garmen brand car adapter for my GPS Map 60CS which worked just fine until it developed a short necessitating my looking for a replacement. I looked into repurchasing the same adapter, but checked out other people’s reviews for this item…and decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did. It works so well. It has a longer cord too. And best of all – it was a fraction of the price I would have paid for the Garmin adapter. I was a little hesitant at first, but those fears turned out to be unfounded. This adapter performs just as it should. Some of the other reviewers complained of it not staying plugged into the GPS unit – mine stays put perfectly…you just have to make sure you push it in securely and all is well.

Sherwood’s incredibly affordable RX-4105 offers integrated preamplification and amplification, inputs for numerous audio source components, and advanced radio tuning and station access. The receiver delivers 100 watts RMS per channel x 2 for strong, clear sound across the audible spectrum–even at low listening levels. The company has lowered the amplifier’s distortion relative to the previous model (the RX-4105), to less than 0.08 percent, while also giving the receiver a new layout borrowed from its higher-end components.

The RX-4105 uses totally discrete amplifiers for all channels (TDAS) to maintain its high power and low distortion. Use the receiver’s A and B clip-type speaker outputs to power 2 different rooms, or to biwire a pair of speakers for more efficient amplification (with A outputs driving the woofers, for instance, and the B outputs driving the tweeters–make sure your speakers are compatible if this is a key feature for you).

The receiver also offers a handy 25-key remote control and switching for 2 pair of loudspeakers. Audio inputs switch between and amplify up to 4 additional components, including 2 requiring both inputs and outputs (such as a cassette deck and a VCR). The built-in AM/FM tuner features 30 station presets and auto station setup.

Other features include bass and treble tone controls, a dimmable fluorescent display, and a .25-inch headphone jack for private listening.

I needed a small, basic, stereo Receiver to connect to my 46″ HD TV set, and which would fit in a small cabinet with less than six inches of vertical clearance.

Note the actual dimensions for this product:

W x H x D: 440mm x 138mm x 332 mm
W x H x D: 17-3/8 in x 5-7/16 in x 13 in

I paired this receiver with two Klipsch B-3 Synergy Bookshelf Loudspeakers, and the sound is excellent for an apartment. The actual room that I am using for this setup measures 17 ft, 2 in x 12 ft.

I had previously been using full size floor standing speakers, but their size did not go well with the decor of the TV set and the low profile, 13-1/2 inch high TV stand.

This receiver has very low distortion and it drives the Klipsch B-3 speakers extremely well. Granted, this is not a full-featured, surround-sound A/V receiver, and therefore does lack a few common features.

In particular, it lacks sub-woofer pre-out connections, digital audio inputs, a “Phono” input for LP turntables, and a “tape monitor” feature, which would be useful for connecting a graphic equalizer.

I was surprised to discover that unlike many other, more expensive receivers, this one has a decent headphone amplifier built in, which is only activated when the speakers are deactivated.

This receiver can drive my Sennheiser HD-580 headphones properly, which have an unusually high, 300 Ohm impedance rating. They sound better when powered by this receiver than they do when powered by some more expensive, dedicated headphone amplifiers.

For the nominal price, I am very happy with this receiver.
Highly recommended.

When I first bought the item i didn’t think this item would fit my 2001 protege but it fit perfectly. The system was easy to use after 15 minutes of playing with it. First I plugged in my ipod into the unit ( with the adapter sold seperately). I was able to easily search through my songs and the album cover should up on the screen, that was pretty cool. My speekers are 2001 factory speekers. But with the pioneer avh-p3100 it made my speakers sound like they are brand new. I cant imagine what new speekers would sound like.
Next I put a DvD in the unit. When I first saw the picture come up I was blown away. The picture was clear and perfect. But what really surprised me was the sound of the of the DvD player It was like I was in the theater. After buying this item I am hooked on pioneer for the price and experience.

I’m in the process of building a near infrared sauna (as per Lawrence Wilson). The sauna will be built on top of a bed, because one of the people using it is debilitated and can’t be upright more than a couple minutes at a time. I needed a countdown timer that would shut the sauna lamps off for safety reasons after a certain time, in case the person in the sauna fell asleep. I looked quite a while before I finally found this item (I almost purchased a commercial Intermatic wall timer, which I would have had to wire into our power strip – lot of trouble). THIS PLUGIN TIMER IS EXACTLY WHAT WE NEEDED!!! We are now able to program right down to the second how long the sauna lamps will be on. This item is PERFECT! Another person who reviewed this timer gave it a very low rating, claiming they couldn’t understand the instructions. I wanted to let prospective buyers know that the instructions are precise and correct, and not difficult to understand. (I have absolutely no connection with the company that makes this product.) This timer works exactly as it should, and is a great tool for us, with many more uses than what we bought it for. To program the countdown timer, press the DAY & red PRG buttons together, which brings you straight to the countdown timer mode. Set the time as desired. (DAY button sets the seconds.) If you want to zero out the numbers, press the small R (reset) button with the tip of a paper clip. If the timer is set to ON, then when the countdown timer finishes it will turn the power off; and if it is set to OFF, then when the timer finishes it will turn the power on. Press the CD (countdown) button in any mode, and your previously set time will begin counting down. So if you use the same countdown time over and over, you just press one button. How easy is that?
